MACHO

Dries Van Noten is honored to announce his invitation to James Hedges to exhibit Andy Warhol’s MACHO at The Little House, 451 N. La Cienega Blvd in Los Angeles from November 18th until December 30th, 2023. 

'MACHO' will feature a cross section of over 50 original Polaroids, unique silver gelatin prints and stitched photos, many of which have never been exhibited before. Accompanying the rare photographs will be a screening of Screen Test of Edie Sedgwick and Kipp Stagg from 1966 on 16mm film.

Additionally on display will be a selection of photographs taken at the Factory by artist Ronnie Cutrone, Warhol’s longtime assistant. During his tenure at Warhol's Factory, Cutrone often took photos with a stereoscopic camera creating 3D images of life inside the Factory and documented its many visitors and their art-making processes.

James ("Jim") R. Hedges IV has been an active art collector and patron for over 30 years. He is currently a private art dealer, cultural producer and curator. In addition to his work with the world’s largest private collection of Andy Warhol photographs, he is also Curator of the Arts for the Hotel Bel-Air and The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows in Los Angeles. With a specialized focus on photography by Andy Warhol, Jim has acquired and placed more Warhol photography than any other collector, private dealer or gallery in the world.
