THE LIPSTICKS
Makeup isn’t just about the end result; the gestures, rituals and tools of application are as important. Dries understands the pull of a desire inspiring object. Falling in love with a lipstick starts with the case and continues with the colour inside, how it feels on the lips, its scent, ingredients as well as the visual effect that it has.
The theme of impossible combinations is expressed from lipstick case to colour and texture.
Four refillable cases, combining endlessly recyclable Zamak, in clashing top and bottom prints inspired by fabrics from the fashion collections, open to reveal a choice of 3 colors in satin, matte and sheer finishes and one clear balm.
Consciously created with a caring formula that features rosehip oil to care for the lips.
BEAUTIFUL & ETHICAL
Consciously created with clean beauty in mind, each of the 30 shades of lipstick and the uncolored lip balm have been formulated with animal-friendly, natural origin ingredients including rosehip oil to nourish and care for lips.Sustainability is at the forefront of the collection – lipstick cases are endlessly refillable and made from recyclable Zamak, with packaging made from FSC-certified forests.
THE ACCESSORIES
Fashionable beauty accessories, alluding to traditional grooming gestures, complement the collection. Solid colors contrasted with striking prints reflect the Dries Van Noten design codes from a half moon mirror to a hair comb and the lip brush - the ultimate tool of application, made from vegan-friendly synthetic hairs.
THE LIPSTICK DRAWING SERIES
Dries Van Noten worked with Gill Button some years ago to make illustrations of eyes on the invitations of our AW 2016-2017 Fashion Show. For this special occasion, Dries commissioned 35 unique drawings using the bold range of lipstick colors.
Gill Button is known for her captivating translation of found imagery; creating gestural, intimate portraits that are deeply personal and intuitive. Her work captures moments of wonder, melancholy, strength or vulnerability.
